Although The Chronicles of Agartha is a fantasy series, we made sure it followed most of the rules of physics and natural science.
To achieve this we had to find ways to seal holes in the plot that otherwise would make it unbelievable. Some of the passing background info had consumed hours of research to make it as close as it could be to our world.
Except for the magical beasts and mythical creatures, everything about Agartha can be explained through scientific rules.
Night and day cycle:
Trying to adhere to scientific values, we created our own bits that model the science of Agartha.
To ensure the cave world that is Agartha would have sunlight, we used the Diamond sun. The diamond sun is a huge crystal that is embedded in the ceiling of the cave world, with one edge in our world. This crystal would transmit the light of the sun, as well as the reflection of the moon.
You would ask how big? The surface area facing downward into Agartha is around 700km2, roughly the size of New York. The part facing into our world is only around 600m2 and it is deep in the Amazonian jungles. It is made mainly of carbon (diamond), and because of its conical shape, it would allow sufficient light to enter Agartha for plant and animal life.
Water source:
As far as the science of Agartha, even natural science goes, this one is easy, underground reservoirs of large masses of water can be found all around the world.
Fauna and flora:
The science of Agartha makes Plantlife abundant in Agartha. Since it is a cave, with sufficient light, heat, and humidity, Agartha is akin to a massive rain forest. Most of the flora would resemble those of the rain forests, some are slightly mutated, stunted because of the high atmospheric pressure and the rarity of soil.
As for the fauna, most land creatures should exist without a lot of trouble in Agartha, but imagine an ox roughly the size of a donkey, only broader. The high atmospheric pressure affects even the height of the people living in Agartha.
People and ethnicity:
From the point of view of the science of Agartha, the people of Agartha are not so different from us on the physiological aspects. The people of Agartha are varied in skin tones and ethnicity, but they are all shorter than the average person from our world. The tallest Agarthan would be at most 5’2.
Most Agarthans are brown to olive in their skin color, with a vivid greenish tinge. The greenish tinge is because of the rarity of iron in Agartha, as well as an abundance in copper that permeates all plant and animal life.
But being short doesn’t mean that they are weak. Their stunted height is because of the high atmospheric pressure, which also grants them far more muscle strength per muscle fiber. Ethan is as strong as any adult he meets on the surface world and he is far stronger than anyone his age from our world as well.
Why nobody can enter Agartha?
Although at some time during the Ice Age, the caverns of Agartha connected to the surface world, seismic activity, and meteorological effects had buried those entrances. Thus, we created magical portals to connect Agartha to the surface world. Even those, have prohibited access within Agartha and wouldn’t let anyone who doesn’t have Agarthan DNA pass.
So, Agartha is real after all?
We don’t believe that could be true. For us, we tried to make Agartha as real as possible, and not related to any of the old mythologies, pseudoscience, or conspiracy theories. We Tried to make our own.
