“Quick,” the man leading a group of six others whispered. “Make haste.” The race up Dragon Mountain was on.
All seven men stumbled over the loose rocks of the mountain’s face, driving forward as fast as they could, even if a foot slip might mean certain death.
As they climbed on, a faraway roar could be heard, but they knew that it didn’t concern them, in fact, the dragon might do them a good service before they reached the peak.
“The boy is waking up,” whispered another man who carried a bundle on his shoulder.
“We can’t stop,” the leader said as he shook his head, “we have to reach the peak before the diamond faces the sun in the world above.”
The man carrying the wrapped body grunted, nodded and continued climbing.
The dragon’s roar came again, far nearer.
“They are gaining on us,” whispered another man near to the leader’s ear.
“We will make it,” the leader responded grimly and just kept going on.
Shouts from a few meters below could be heard, but they were not the shouts of men urging each other to pursue the group of seven, but rather shouts of fight and rage.
The leader paused his ascent for a few seconds, then turned and continued climbing.
Two weeks ago they read the full scripture of the prophecy, and it was far worse than they expected.
The ironic part was that the prophecy mentioned their order by name and called them doom bringers and saviors in the very same line.
They started as twelve men trying to save their own world, but to do that they had to travel back in time, and under the earth’s crust, Agartha, was the place they found their salvation.
But this is when the templars split, seven, led by Sir Richard the pious, decided to follow the steps of the prophecy, and the other five decided to try to avert the prophecy by becoming counselors to the heads of five of the six nations inhabiting Agartha.
After each group went on its way, the Chronicler sent a crow with a message to the group who decided to follow on the steps of the prophecy, it was short and decisive, “You are in danger,” was all it said.
The next day the chase began, forces unknown from above and below the earth convened to stop their mission.
Sir Richard continued his climb, less than an hour to go.
