For those following this blog, or those who read our book, I have a story to share, but this story is nothing like the fiction we usually share here, it is the story of a book, and this book is The Green Boy.
Every work of fiction has a story behind it, usually of an author who had a dream and worked for days to assemble it in words, like all those books, we have also a story and we guarantee that it is rather unique.
The story starts some years ago, when Isaac Michaan, a Brazilian programmer, dreamt of the world under our own, the legend is very old, in fact, it is part of Tibetan Buddhist belief, as Shambala is believed to be inside the earth.
If you search Agartha, hollow earth or inner earth, most probably you will not find our books, yet :D, but you will find mention of this myth in so many places.
So, Isaac started to build a world around his dream and devised the aura color power-based gift to the residents of his world.
Thousands of words went into his effort, but then, he stopped there.
The Dream could have died then
It would take some years till he fell upon Sherif Guirguis, an Egyptian medical doctor, and Isaac shared with him his idea.
Then those two men from opposite sides of the globe, different cultures, different ages, and even different backgrounds, believed in Isaac’s dream of a story to tell.
They bounced ideas for more than two months just to reach a plot of a six-book series, as the story was so long, so overreaching and ambitious that one or two books would never give it justice.
The story of a book was born, and for the next months, they worked on realizing it.
Why medieval young adult Fantasy?
When the two authors decided on a plot, they juggled the idea of who it would be written for, when it would be set, and the style of writing.
The easiest to answer of those questions was for who it was to be written for, as they agreed to make it family-friendly, and even though they didn’t plan for it to be for young adults, this is the industry standard for family-friendly fiction.
Then came the setting, and as both were dreamers, and felt a yearning for the fiction of Arthurian legends and medieval time, it was to be that.
The last was an outcome of the above choices, and it was to be a fantasy.
And even though thousands of miles separated the two authors, The Green Boy was born.
