“They are about to make you a god,” a man in togas screamed at another sitting calmly behind a desk. “And you are just a stripped Purple.”
“No, they will not,” the sitting man laughed hard, “but it is not bad to be treated with deference after all that happened.”
“I was mistaken to take you in,” the other man shook his head as he talked. “I should have left to brave this world alone.
“Relax Pythagoras,” the sitting man stood to face Pythagoras, “I appreciate all you did for me, besides, I am teaching them my ways, that’s all.”
“Zalmoxis,” Pythagoras stood head to head with the Zalmoxis, “you are teaching them Agarthan ways, this could be dangerous. You are a purple, you should know that.”
“Who would judge me?” Zalmoxis stared hard at Pythagoras. “You? You are not even Agarthan, and you stole our teachings.”
“This is a lie.” Pythagoras spat the words. “The chronicler deemed me worthy and opened the libraries of science and mathematics for me to learn and pass the knowledge.”
“Hah!” Zalmoxis barked a short laugh as he returned to his table and poured a glass of chilled mead. “I can’t believe you tricked the old fool so bad, I still think you stole the knowledge.”
“I only shared less than one-tenth of what I learned,” Pythagoras said as he refused the offered cup. “I spread only what I deemed safe for my people, but you want to give them what is beyond their means to use.”
Zalmoxis sighed a long sigh, “What do you want me to do? They took me for one of their own, treated me like royalty, and this is all I can do to repay them.”
“All I am asking,” Pythagoras pleaded to Zalmoxis, “is for you to share only what will not harm those people, and you know of what I am talking about.”
“Alright.” Zalmoxis nodded. “I will not share the secrets of creating magical artifacts, satisfied?”
“Yes, thank you.” Pythagoras sighed.
