Violet hopped that Stephan had already convinced Yara AKA Baba Yaga to join their cause by now, she on the other hand had to convince a monster to join.
At least, her prey was not far from their base of operation, all she had to do was to go search for them in the woods.
she took a carriage till the northern most part of London then she started to walk.
Once she was sure nobody was watching, she cast a fast spell and was airborne.
What was supposed to take her several hours, took her only forty minutes.
She landed softly at the southern part of “The people’s forest,” or Epping Forest as it is originally called.
She knew that the monster was sighted in these parts some years ago, but since she studied this person for quite a long time back home in Agartha, she also knew that he was most probably still in these parts.
Violet didn’t fear him, for her he was not a monster, not that much, he was just an escaped Red, a shapeshifter to be exact.
Supposedly one of the rare shape shifters who could morph into four other creatures, this man escaped Agartha without an apparent reason.
When she first heard of him back at the coalition of the Chronicler enforcers, he was a legend, one of the best enforcers in recent history.
He was also the one Agarthan with the highest record of visiting the upper world, seventeen times to be exact. Well, that was before he left his position and the entire population of Agartha to wonder on the reason he ran away.
Nobody knew his whereabouts for almost five years, until reports came from the topside agents of a monster, human and animal hybrid was seen in Hungary.
Then three years ago, he was allegedly seen in Germany, then a year later, in France.
But this year, the reports placed him here, in Epping Forest.
Violet walked slowly through the forest until she reached the middle of it, and stopped.
She took her gloves and placed them carefully in her purse, then she knelt to the ground and pushed her hands in the dirt.
Nothing happened for some minutes, then the voices of all the animals in the forest rose up in chorus, a wondrous melody of a thousand animals calling to Violet in the same moment.
Violet closed her eyes and concentrated, all parts of the forest were alive with the calls of animals, except an area around a half a mile to her north, there was only silence there.
She stood and started to run at full speed, she had a monster to catch.
She knew she was in the right place the moment she entered this area, the place smelled wrong.
“John, I know that you are here.” She spoke in firm tones. “You can either come out voluntarily or suffer the way I will have to use to flush you out. You have one minute.”
She started to count under her breath to sixty, but before she reached twenty five, a rustling in the leaves of the bushes to her left made her stop.
John stepped slowly to the clearing she stood in, he sighed. “What do you want with me Agarthan?”
“I need your help.” Violet spoke in a clear yet not loud voice.
“Then search for another, I don’t involve in your matters, and I don’t want to be involved in yours.” He turned to leave.
“Wait!” She shouted. “This concerns you as well.”
He stopped for a moment then he turned to face here. “Concerns me in which way?”
“One of us is killing women of fertile age and he is collecting specific organs from their bodies.” She sighed. “Aside from your feeling on the matter towards this man, soon, the police will raid the forest in search of anybody they could stick on.”
“How many?” He asked her.
“We are not certain, but we think he only needs a man now.” She paused then added. “He will disappear soon, and they might frame it on anybody, they will put on somebody who lives away from public eye, like you.”
“I get it your tracker is not working.” He looked at her, and she just nodded. “Of course, it wouldn’t he is as meticulous as he is ruthless.”
“We need you to aid us to make a circle of five spell.” Violet looked at him then bent her head, she really hoped that she got through to him.”
“How many have you got?” He approached her slowly, as his features changed and his mouth with nose seemed to mold together.
“There me and my partner, you and the renegade Yara, if you agree and Stephan, my partner succeeds to convince her.” Violet looked in fascination at the transformation in the face and body of John.
“Lead on.” John who fell on all four gave her a growl.
She inspected his new form, and smiled, no wonder the locals called him Wolf-man, he turned in seconds to a grey black wolf, that could be mistaken in the city for a wolf hound easily.
“Leash.” The wolf growled.
She searched his fallen clothes and produced a length of leather fashioned as a leash, she placed around John’s neck and collected his fallen clothes under her arm pit.
She still had a long walk.
